Ce pourrait être un très bon livre, car c'est une bonne histoire et bien écrite dans les détails, mais je trouve que l'auteur abuse de la patience du lecteur avec un début qui n'en finit pas (j'ai fini par me résoudre à consulter la fin pour m'assurer qu'il ne s'agissait pas d''une banale histoire conjugale). Autre sujet d'irritation, l'auteur n'a pas numéroté les chapitres (où plutôt les a supprimés pour la publication, car ils devaient certainement être numérotés en cours d'écriture), ce qui est ennuyeux en e-book si on veut faire des retours en arrière. Mais la fin est excellente.

Story about a woman lured into a relationship and then marriage by a successful but deranged lawyer intent on imprisoning her and subjecting her to intense mental abuse. And probably more... I gave up after reading 35% of the book. Continuing to read about the misery and mental torture endured by the main character was hardly a pleasure, and unlike crime novels there's no 'who done it' factor.... no plot that twists, turns or surprises. Quite well written, although the first few chapters covering their 'perfect' relationship is a bit Mills & Boon. Overall I guess just not my cup of tea...

Gripping and chilling and thrilling. I felt like I was Grace the writing is so well done. I was paralyzed when Jack talked to her with his undertones. Unlike other psychological thrillers. Hope it becomes a film. Off to buy the next book by B A Paris. Good reading and I don't think I will be getting married some time soon. You just never know!
