Un pur regal

Agatha Raisin est une femme active, qui, après avoir dirigé sa propre agence de publicité, décide de prendre une retraite anticipée dans un cottage, situé au coeur d'un paisible village des Cotswolds. Pour s'intégrer elle décide de participer au grand concours annuel de quiches (?!). Oui mais voilà, le plus grand talent culinaire d'Agatha consiste à placer un "steak and kidney pie" surgelé dans son four à micro-ondes. Elle décide alors de tricher et achète une quiche aux épinards à Londres. Malheureusement, un des juges du concours meurt après avoir mangé une part de cette quiche. Agatha, soupçonnée de meurtre, se transforme alors en Miss Marple. C'est drôle, sans prétention, facile à lire en anglais et tellement plaisant qu'on achète instantanément la suite.

une détective pas comme les autres

je viens de découvrir Agatha Raisin dans "Quiche of death". Je pense que ce livre est le tout premier de la série, car Agatha découvre ici sa nouvelle vocation, à savoir celle de "détective malgré elle". A cette femme pleine d'énergie, dèterminée, au caractère fort et souvent pas très aimable, arrivent toutes sortes de choses drôles, parfois dangereuses. Mais elle s'en sort à chaque fois, ce qui est rassurant.... et ainsi la série peut continuer.Je recommande les aventures d'Agatha à chacun qui apprécie une lecture simple, originale, dans un anglais facile à comprendre .

Je ne m'en souviens même plus. Ce n'est pas aussi humoristique que ce que j'attendais en lisant certaines critiques. Décevant!
